AOL Broadband is shortlisted for prestigious CCMA Award Back to Media Releases
6th November 2008 AOL Broadband has been announced as a finalist in the 2008 Contact Centre and Shared Service Centre Awards in a category to reward the “Best Training Programme of the year”. The awards aim to recognise innovation and excellence within the contact centre industry in Ireland and are organised by CCMA Ireland. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner to be held on Friday 21st November at the prestigious Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny.
Elaine Connolly, Communications Manager for AOL Broadband, said “We are delighted to have been selected as a finalist especially in the training programme category where the competition is of the highest standard. As a service organisation AOL Broadband relies on the skills of its workforce to ensure a quality service is delivered to customers at all times. We are therefore committed to supporting training and continuous improvement by making sure that our employees are equipped with the best training support to help them meet the high standards we set for ourselves.”
Last year AOL Broadband’s contact centre in Waterford won a mixture of organisational and individual awards, including contact centre of the year 2007. AOL Broadband’s Heather Roche was awarded contact centre Manager of the year while the company also emerged as the winner of the online award category. This year’s award ceremony will culminate yet another successful year for the company which celebrates its 10th anniversary in Waterford.
AOL Broadband has a long-standing reputation for supporting training development for its 750 employees. Each year the company spends approximately €1 million on employee training initiatives and has a dedicated in-house training team to deliver effective training programmes for employees. Last year the company established a Graduate Diploma in Management in conjunction with the Waterford Institute of Technology. Under the programme high potential managers have the opportunity to broaden and expand their business skills in parallel with their day to day role.
Elaine Connolly added, “To be shortlisted for this award is immensely valuable for us as it gives due recognition to AOL Broadband’s continued commitment to training development as an important part of our business strategy.”
