AOL Broadband Employee Wins Receptionist of the Year Award Back to Media Releases

AOL Broadband is celebrating after its front-of-house receptionist, Richard Hatton, was named as the 2008 Oyster Receptionist of the year. The prestigious award was presented to Richard at an award ceremony hosted by Oyster Group at the Shelbourne hotel on Friday November 7th.

Mr Hatton, who has managed the busy reception desk at AOL Broadband in Waterford since 2006, was nominated for the competition by his employer to acknowledge his ongoing work and important contribution to the company.

Elaine Connolly, Communications Manager for AOL Broadband said: “We are thrilled that Richard won this award, and gained the recognition that he deserves. He is a valuable member of our team and does a fantastic job front-of-house. Reception is the first point of call for visitors to the company and it is important that the service received is of an extremely high standard. Richard winning this award is a great endorsement of AOL Broadband and what we stand for.”

Prior to joining AOL Broadband in 2006, Richard worked for a number of years in the hospitality industry as Chef and Maitre D'Hotel in Tinakilly House Wicklow, Moyglare Manor Maynooth and Waterford Castle Hotel. Richard then moved to London to study to be a Butler. Following this he spent a number of years as a Butler with some of London's top society families including the Earl Charles Spencer.
