AOL Broadband Brings Home the Gold Back to Media Releases
Friday 16th October 2009: Minister for Labour Affairs Dara Calleary TD presented AOL Broadband with the prestigious Gold Excellence Through People Award last Friday at their offices on the Cork Road. Excellence Through People (ETP) helps organisations improve performance and achieve business goals through their employees. It is the only quality standard dedicated to the role of people and their impact on business.
The focus of ETP is to get organisations look at their people as a key resource of competitive advantage. The programme was designed in response to requirements from business to maximise their investment in human resources.
Speaking at the presentation, Minister Calleary said “The Government encourages the development of a lifelong learning culture where successful employers are those who realise that their people are their most important asset and act on that by further investing in their skills and development. That is why we want all employers to take responsibility for improving the skills of their workforce. AOL as a recipient of the FÁS Excellence through People Award has already grasped this economic reality and has shown their sustained commitment to reach excellence through valuing and developing their employees”
Accepting the award on behalf of AOL Broadband, Heather Roche, Director of Contact Centres UK & Ireland added “Commitment to our employees and their ongoing development is a distinctive advantage in a very competitive market place. AOL Broadband clearly demonstrates this through a variety of people development programmes and we are delighted to receive this Gold ETP award for our strong people culture & ethos”.
ETP provides businesses with a step-by-step guide to help them enhance their business. The Standard is used by many of Ireland's most progressive and successful organisations to become more efficient, productive, flexible, competitive and innovative.
